Glonara, acronimo di GLoss ON A RAinbow, è un fashion blog bilingue (inglese e italiano) molto particolare, creato lo scorso novembre dalle due sorelle Alessia e Chiara Ponzone, originarie di Alessandria. La particolarità del lavoro di queste due ragazze sta nel fatto che non si limitano a raccontare la moda e il loro stile, ma lo disegnano. Il loro motto "Made in Glonara: we imagined this and painted it for you" riassume la loro capacità di illustrare in maniera divertente e giocosa il patinato mondo della moda, trasmettendo tutta la loro passione per il fashion. La loro idea è quella di raccontare in un diario virtuale le notizie più intriganti della fashion industry accompagnate da illustrazioni ispirate ai mille colori delle passerelle. Il loro stile è piaciuto subito tantissimo, tanto da portarle nel giro di pochi mesi a una collaborazione fissa con Style.it e Cosmopolitan. Conosciamo meglio il lavoro di Alessia e Chiara attraverso questa intervista, che ci hanno gentilmente concesso in occasione della loro partecipazione all'evento Biffi Boutique - GQ style. Grazie!!

Quando e perché avete deciso di aprire il vostro fashion blog?


L'idea di aprire un fashion blog nasce dalla nostra full immersion nei portali di moda e nelle pagine delle riviste. Divoriamo riviste di moda sin da bambine e la scorsa estate ci siamo rese conto che con il bagaglio di letture che ci portavamo dietro eravamo in possesso di una notevole quantità di informazioni, tale da permetterci di aprire un nostro diario virtuale, con "vetrine prodotto" che fungessero da anteprima di tendenze e prodotti. Creative per natura e amanti dell'eleganza, ci piaceva l'idea di suggerire look modaioli che rispecchiassero il nostro gusto personale.
Abbiamo incominciato ad abbozzare dei disegni, ispirate dai designer più famosi ma anche da marchi commerciali più accessibili, per rivolgerci a tutte le fasce di lettrici. Nasce così a novembre il nostro blog, dove attraverso le nostre illustrazioni condividiamo le mille sfumature delle passerelle.


Quali sono i vostri designer preferiti? 


Difficile sintetizzare in poche righe i nostri brand del cuore. Per chi ama la moda, la disegna, la cuce e chiaramente la indossa, le ispirazioni sono molteplici. 
Il primo pensiero va sempre verso chi la moda l'ha fatta, ai grandi couturier come Dior, Elsa Schiapparelli, Lanvin, Balenciaga, De La Renta, Rodriguèz, Valentino Garavani... Aquesto punto occorre imperò includere doverosamente Yves Saint Laurent e Giorgio Armani! E la lista si allunga se pensiamo al prêt-à-porter dove citiamo alcune stelle del nostro Made in Italy come Alberta Ferretti, Versace, Blumarine, Jo No Fui, Roccobarocco, Marni, Alessandro Dell'Acqua, Roberto Cavalli. Inoltre adoriamo Paola Frani,Twin-Set, Dondup ma ci sono anche tanti giovani e talentuosi emergenti degni di menzione. Bisognerebbe poi aprire una parentesi sulle varie declinazioni, sulla pelletteria e sugli accessori, ma a questo punto scriveremmo un trattato col rischio di annoiare qualche lettrice!

Quali sono i vostri progetti imminenti e futuri?

Per Style.it curiamo la rubrica fissa "Gloss4style", ove facciamo settimanalmente confluire i nostri articoli corredati dei nostri schizzi; il link a Glonara è sempre attivo, in modo che si possa saltare da un blog all'altro.  Abbiamo inoltre conservato uno spazio blog sul sito di Cosmopolitan e grazie a questa importante collaborazione siamo state chiamate da alcuni press office di Milano per seguire marchi emergenti i abbigliamento Made in Italy appena lanciate sul mercato. 

Stiamo inoltre lavorando per curare le recensioni di un libro sulla storia della moda e di uno style book, che saranno prossimamente nelle librerie nazionali.

Last but not the least, e ne siamo orgogliosissime, Glonara è tra i blog selezionati da Stefanel Italia per al presentazione e la promozione delle collezione Spring/Summer 2012, ma non vi diciamo di più perché per conoscere gli sviluppi dovrete continuare a seguirci su www.glonara.com! 

Che dire di più? queste ragazze sono una grande fonte di ispirazione per me e il loro blog è di certo un punto di riferimento per tutte le amanti dell'eleganza e della fashion industry. Glonara, acronym for GLoss ON A RAimbow, is a bilingual fashion blog (english and italian) very particular. It has been created the last november by the two sisters Alessandra e Chiara Ponzone, from Alessandria (Italy). The interesting thing of this blog is the fact that they don't limit themselves to wright about fashion and their style, they draw fashion. Their slogan "Made in Glonara: we imagined this and painted it for you" summarizes their ability to illustrate the fashion world in a playful and funny way, sharing all their passion for the fashion industry. Their idea is to tell the most spicy and interesting news about fashion matched with their drawings in a virtual diary. Their drawings are inspired by the thousands colors of the runaways. Their style has had a lot of success from the beginning, because of this they have started soon a collaboration with Style.it and Cosmopolitan. Let's know better the work of this two beautiful girls in this interview. 

Why and when you have decided to open your fashion blog?

The idea to open a fashion blog was born by our full immersion in the fashion websites and in the fashion magazines. We devour fashion magazines since we are kids and the last summer we realize that with our big luggage of readings we have a huge amount of information to start our personal virtual diary. A diary with "products' showcases" that can show future trends and products. Natural born creative and elegance lovers, we liked the idea to suggest some fashion looks reflect our personal taste. We have started to sketch some fashion drawings inspired by famous designers but also by cheaper brands, in order to address to all kind of readers. So in november is born our blog.

Which are your favorites designers?

It's difficult answer in a few lines. For who loves fashion, draw it, study it, sew it and, of course, wears it, there are multiple inspiration. 

The first thought comes to who made the fashion, the big couturier like Dior, Elsa Schiapparelli, Lanvin, Balenciaga, De La Renta, Rodriguèz, Valentino Garavani... At this point we have to put in Yves Saint Laurent and Giorgio Armani, too! And the list becomes longer if we think about the prét-à-porter, where we quote some of italian designers like Alberta Ferretti, Versace, Blumarine, Roccobarocco, Marni, Alesssandro Dell'Acqua, Roberto Cavalli, Paola Frani, Twin-Set, Jo No Fui and Dondup. There are also a lot of young designers with a great talent that we could talk about! We should have to open a parenthesis about accessories and bags, but we could bore some readers with a such long list! 

What are your projects now and what for the future?

We wright for Style.it the column "Gloss4Style" where we weekly upload our articles and drawings, the link Glonara is fixed, in this way the readers can jump from one blog to the other. We have a blog's space on Cosmopolitan and thank to this important collaboration we were called by some important press office of Milan to follow some new italian brands. We are also working with two publishing houses in order to attend the reviews about a history of fashion book and a style book. They will be soon in the national bookshops. 

Last but not the least, and we are very proud of it, Glonara was among the blogs selected by Stefanel Italia to present and promote the 2012 spring/summer collection. To know more about this project follow us on www.glonara.com! 

What else can I say? These two girls are a big source of inspiration for me and their blog is surely a point of reference for all the people love the elegance and the fashion industry.
